<strong>Title</strong>: <strong>Public</strong> <strong>Relations</strong> <strong>and</strong> <strong>Marketing</strong> <strong>Assistant</strong>Status: Year-Round, Full-TimeReports to: Director of <strong>Marketing</strong> <strong>and</strong> Communication, works closely with every member of the <strong>Marketing</strong>department, including the Graphic Design Manager, <strong>Marketing</strong> <strong>and</strong> New Media Manager, Ticket Services Manager,<strong>and</strong> others.Jacob’s <strong>Pillow</strong> is a National Historic L<strong>and</strong>mark, recipient of the National Medal of Arts, <strong>and</strong> home to America’slongest-running international dance festival, located in the beautiful Berkshires of Western Massachusetts. “The<strong>Pillow</strong>” encompasses a world-renowned Festival presenting dance companies from around the world, The School atJacob’s <strong>Pillow</strong> a professional training center, rare <strong>and</strong> extensive dance Archives which are open to the public, aCreative Development Residency Program to support new choreography, <strong>and</strong> year-round Community Programsserving local schoolchildren, artists, <strong>and</strong> community members. Jacob’s <strong>Pillow</strong> is currently celebrating its 80 thAnniversary Season.Opportunities:This position presents the perfect opportunity for a passionate professional to contribute to the overall strength <strong>and</strong>success of Jacob’s <strong>Pillow</strong> through a variety of communication <strong>and</strong> marketing mediums. This position works closelywith <strong>and</strong> learns from fellow marketing, education, administration, <strong>and</strong> fundraising professionals at the <strong>Pillow</strong>, withample opportunities for training <strong>and</strong> professional growth.Responsibilities:Press <strong>Relations</strong>• Contribute to the writing, fact-checking, <strong>and</strong> proofreading of all press materials, <strong>and</strong> manage public <strong>and</strong> internaldissemination.• Manage various press needs including follow-up calls, fulfilling information, interview, <strong>and</strong> photograph requests,<strong>and</strong> assisting with press visit logistics.• Research, update, <strong>and</strong> manage the <strong>Pillow</strong>’s press contact databases, <strong>and</strong> manage press clip filing <strong>and</strong> tracking.• Act as an on-site liaison during press visits.<strong>Marketing</strong>/Community Outreach• Coordinate marketing efforts for the Education Department including audition <strong>and</strong> target market research <strong>and</strong>outreach for The School at Jacob’s <strong>Pillow</strong>.• Contribute to copywriting projects <strong>and</strong> act as main proofreader for all marketing copy.• Manage community outreach efforts including Arts Educator Weekend, contact with regional communityambassadors, <strong>and</strong> involvement with regional community events.Web/Social Media• Assist with updating Jacob’s <strong>Pillow</strong> website content.• Manage social media outreach <strong>and</strong> e-communication efforts for The School at Jacob’s <strong>Pillow</strong>.Sales• Contribute as a member of the Ticket Services team by working select Box Office shifts, year-round.•Assist as needed with selling advertising in the Festival Program Book as well as Business Partnership Packages.Includes sales calls, paperwork, ad tracking, <strong>and</strong> client h<strong>and</strong>ling.• Assist as needed with Festival Group Sales, including sales calls, itinerary development, billing <strong>and</strong> paperwork, <strong>and</strong>on-site management.


Administrative• When needed, assist with marketing-related administrative projects.• Other duties as assigned.Qualifications:Applicants must be energetic, professional, dedicated, <strong>and</strong> detail-oriented, with a passion for the arts. Superiorinterpersonal, time management, <strong>and</strong> multitasking skills are essential. Applicants should have impeccable writing<strong>and</strong> verbal skills. Actual work experience in marketing <strong>and</strong> press/media relations experience, <strong>and</strong> a thoroughknowledge of dance <strong>and</strong> dance history are strongly preferred, but not absolutely required.Full-time, year-round, with excellent benefits.
