Asthe " prince of the power of the air" Satan now rules inthe hearts of the children of disobedience, and as the "godof this world" he "hath blinded the minds of them thatbelieve not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ,who is the image of God, should shine unto them"-Ephesians II,3 ; 2 Corinthians IV, 4 Satan is " the princeof this world" (John XIV, SO), and must be deposed; thenChrist will become the Prince of Peace. Satan will be boundfor a thousand years, to prevent him deceiving the nationsduring their process of uplifting under the beneficent ruleof Christ. But when the thousand years are expired hemust be loosed for a little season, in order to finally testthe loyalty of the people to God and to righteousness.When all the enemies of God and righteousness have beendestroyed, then, indeed, the desire of all nations will havecome. That glorious condition, however, will not existtill the end of Christ's Millennia1 reign.During the thousand years of Christ's rule, the moral,mental and physical imperfections which have renderedman helpless in his attempt to govern the world, will beremoved. Of the three, the condition of the heart is themost important. Will men's heart's be put right? Yes.In Ezekiel XXXVI, 26,27, we read: "A new heart alsowill I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you:and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, andwill give you a heart of flesh. And I will put my spirifwithin you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and yeshall keep my judgments, and do them." Through theprophet Jeremiah (XXXI, 28, 29), we are informed thatthe law of heredity will cease after the Israelites arezestored to their land and to God's everlasting favour:And it shall come to pass, that like as I have watched26
