Wethen climbed down around thisto the Descending Passage, butGoing up the Descending Passage towithin 25 or 30 feet of the entrance, wenoted the finely ruled line on the side,which marks the date of the building of thePyramid, by measuring back from near theupper opening of the Well down to theFirst Ascending and up the DescendingPassages to this line.We then went outside with the thought ofgoing up the outside of the Pyramid, but asthere is nothing to be gained by so doing,except a fine view of the country, and as itwould have been a hard climb, we decidednot to do so, but instead went and got somelunch.
