of an inch above the level of the floor of the Ante Chamber. <strong>The</strong>se two added together make I in. <strong>The</strong>n thespace between these two points is 156 1/2; making altogether 157 1/2 inches. In other words, it would appearthat the last inch of that first granite stone on the floor of the Ante Chamber marks the first year of the fifthmillennium; <strong>and</strong> the entrance of King's Chamber represents the springtime of the year, 33 when Christ died <strong>and</strong>was resurrected, as the beginning of the new creation on this fifth day.Now, we have a beautiful picture shown us, <strong>and</strong> we may exercise our imagination somewhat. <strong>The</strong>re are somebeautiful qualities in imagination <strong>and</strong> you should try <strong>and</strong> cultivate them, if you have not already done so.Imagination is all right if you do not carry it too far. Sometimes people allow their imagination to lead themastray, but if it is kept within proper limits it is good. Now, imagination carries us away back to say two or threethous<strong>and</strong> years ago, before our Lord came into this world, <strong>and</strong> suppose we are among the heavenly beings, <strong>and</strong>that we are aware that our heavenly Father has provided that the Lamb shall die for the sin of the world, <strong>and</strong>will be highly exalted. Now, here we are in this Ante Chamber waiting anxiously for that time. On each side ofus we see the walls divided into four spaces representing the first four thous<strong>and</strong> year days, the first of whichwas blocked by the granite leaf, the divine will. We knew that the first day was the first Adam's day; it was theday when condemnation came on the world; then, as we approach this point, we are getting nearer <strong>and</strong> nearer tothe south wall of the Ante Chamber, <strong>and</strong> we see in front of us - if our lamps are good-the wall divided into fivespaces, <strong>and</strong> the thought comes before our minds that we are approaching this great fifth day. What a feeling ofsuspense must have been in heaven at that time! How the holy angels must have been so anxious, knowing thatour Lord Jesus was to humble himself to become a man <strong>and</strong> to be obedient unto death! And then comes the firstyear of that great fifth day when Christ humbled himself <strong>and</strong> became a servant, <strong>and</strong> then humbled himself stillfarther, even the death of the cross, all in obedience to the Father's will. And then because he could not beholden of death he was raised from the dead <strong>and</strong> highly exalted. With that explanation we can then see why thisnumber 5 is a sacred number in the Pyramid.<strong>The</strong> Seventy Weeks of Israel's FavorWaymnan Dickson, in exploring this first ascending passage, found a very peculiar thing. He found that whilefor the most part the roof, walls <strong>and</strong> floor were formed of separate stones, at certain points there were greattransverse plates of stone with the rectangular bore of the passage cut out of the center, so that at these parts theroof, walls <strong>and</strong> floor were formed of one stone. <strong>The</strong>se must have been designed by the Master Architect for aspecial purpose; it could not have been merely for the sake of stability. When we examine the measurements wefind that they indicate certain time features in the Law Dispensation. Take the top one; as the date of thebeginning of the 70 weeks, the year 454 B. C., when Nehemiah received his commission to build the walls ofJerusalem, <strong>and</strong> then, when we reach the point which is opposite the middle of the Well, turn sharp to the righttill we get to the edge of the orifice, <strong>and</strong> finally down, to <strong>and</strong> along the floor of the short horizontal passageleading to the mouth of the Well, we shall find that the point on the floor which is vertically beneath the Westwall of the Gr<strong>and</strong> Gallery indicates the (late October 36 A. D.This is just what we should expect. <strong>The</strong> building of the walls of Jerusalem was the last act of a great reform inIsrael. Nehemiah's commission formed therefore, a very appropriate date for the beginning of the 69 weeks ofwaiting <strong>and</strong> preparation for the coming of the promised Messiah. In due time, namely at the beginning of the70th week, October 29 A. D., the Messiah came, <strong>and</strong> the High calling went forth to the Nation of Israel, first asa whole through its representatives, <strong>and</strong> then, after the rejection of the Messiah, in April 33, to the individuals ofthe Nation. In October, 36 A. D., this exclusive favor of Israel ceased. Now, as we have before seen, that theGr<strong>and</strong> Gallery symbolizes the High-calling, therefore, when the Nation reached the point on the floor of thepassage leading out of the Gr<strong>and</strong> Gallery toward the mouth of the Well, they had reached the limit of theirexclusive favor, to be invited to the High-calling. <strong>The</strong> moment they passed beyond this they were outside theGr<strong>and</strong> Gallery <strong>and</strong> were obliged to take their lot as individuals along with the Gentiles.
