Night of Museums 2012
For this night no-one will be asleep sleep before 1am, or
at least they shouldn’t be. Museums and galleries from
the Tricity, Tczew, Pruszcz Gdański and Wejherowo, institutions
from the world of culture, art and science, have
prepared special programmes. Apart from the regular
displays, there will lots of concerts, happenings, historical
reconstructions and competitions. All the events will
present local culture and lesser known local history and
many venues will be showing exhibits normally hidden
from view and opening areas that are normally closed to
the public. Most entrance is free or a symbolic 1zł and the
majority of places will be open between 19:00 and 01:00.

here focus on two themes: ancient sports and the Roman
army. Come along and see Roman drill equipment,
combat gear and take in a lecture on Roman armour. Q

is the topic of this year’s edition and if you fancy taking
part in the making of the movie, there’s a make-up artist,
photographer and costume designer waiting for you. At
19:00 you can try your luck in old fashioned games like:
Państwa-miasta, guma or gra w klasy. Later at 21:00 you
are invited to take part in a competition for the best dressed
extra; the winner will get a chance to see the new European

Organising trade events for a variety of economic sectors,
including both in-house projects and external contracts

be moving to a new, modern location, just across the street
from the PGE Arena stadium. When the road improvements

Globaltica World Cultures Festival 2012

Globaltica is an extraordinary festival in Poland’s summer
events calendar. The main goal is to show multicultural
events from a wide variety of traditions and religions.
However, it’s not about treating the performances in
same way as museum pieces, but as living culture and
a part of contemporary life. It features modern artists
inspired by the traditions and roots of the places they
come from, but “translated” into a modern medium for
artistic and social communication.
The main focus is music, but there will be the chance to
enjoy work from other artistic areas such as literature, art
and film. Globaltica mainly takes place at the historical
Kolibki Park in Gdynia - a spacious meadow surrounded
by trees close to the sea, not far from the city centre,
next to the main road running through the Tricity on the
Gdynia-Sopot border. The natural surroundings, much
better than the closed space of a concert hall, help create
the atmosphere for this unique artistic event. This year’s
names include Blindnote from Belgium, Kila from Ireland
and Vołosi from Poland. More artists will be announced

PitBull at the UEFA Euro2012 Fanzone

Fan Zone has prepared many attractions for Euro 2012.
One highlight should be the first Polish concert of American
rapper PitBull, I wondered why I hadn’t heard of him.
Apparently for this special occasion he’s prepared a
special set. The mind boggles: an analysis of the rise of
the triquartista and the wingback? Perhaps the demise
of the traditional number 9, insert Andy Carroll gag here.
