Lesson OneThe Land of <strong>Israel</strong>The world is a vast stage with the end-time actors prepar<strong>in</strong>g for the last scene <strong>in</strong> the greatdrama of world history. One can hear the <strong>com</strong>motion of stagehands beh<strong>in</strong>d the curta<strong>in</strong>s as theyhustle around, sett<strong>in</strong>g the arena for the last climatic scene for the history of mank<strong>in</strong>d. The play,“Man’s History,” is about over, there rema<strong>in</strong>s but one more scene to be preformed.Hurricanes have storm centers that men give names. There is a storm gather<strong>in</strong>g upon theworld and its “storm-center” is <strong>Israel</strong>. The nations of the world, suspect<strong>in</strong>g their own possibledestruction, are still be<strong>in</strong>g drawn, irresistible, <strong>in</strong>to that storm.The hottest spot on the face of the earth is <strong>Israel</strong>. No other land is so persistently andpredom<strong>in</strong>antly <strong>in</strong> World News. The spotlight of the world is focused aga<strong>in</strong> and aga<strong>in</strong> on theMiddle East, a piece of land only 150 miles long and 60 miles wide. The whole country could bethrown <strong>in</strong>to lake Michigan.<strong>Israel</strong> is the only nation <strong>in</strong> the history of mank<strong>in</strong>d, that is:1. foretold <strong>in</strong> <strong>Bible</strong> prophecy before it ever came <strong>in</strong>to existence;2. the geographic center of the world;3. the religious center of the world;4. to be the capital of the world;5. the richest <strong>in</strong> the world <strong>in</strong> natural resources;6. where the last battle of all time will be fought;7. where Jesus Christ will personally return too;8. is to be the scene of Satan’s f<strong>in</strong>al, and total defeat;9. given by God to a s<strong>in</strong>gle people for an everlast<strong>in</strong>g possession.While it is true that many nations have possessed the land of <strong>Israel</strong>, however, they wereunlawful and unscriptural <strong>in</strong>trudes <strong>in</strong> the land. Listen to Genesis 13:14-17,“And the LORD said unto Abram, after that Lot was separatedfrom him, Lift up now th<strong>in</strong>e eyes, and look from the place wherethou art northward, and southward, and eastward, and westward:For all the land which thou seest, to thee will I give it, and to thyseed for ever. And I will make thy seed as the dust of the earth: sothat if a man can number the dust of the earth, then shall thy seedalso be numbered. Arise, walk through the land <strong>in</strong> the length of itand <strong>in</strong> the breadth of it; for I will give it unto thee.”Genesis 17:7-8, “And I will establish my covenant between me andthee and thy seed after thee <strong>in</strong> their generations for an everlast<strong>in</strong>gcovenant, to be a God unto thee, and to thy seed after thee. And Iwill give unto thee, and to thy seed after thee, the land where<strong>in</strong>thou art a stranger, all the land of Canaan, for an everlast<strong>in</strong>gpossession; and I will be their God.”
