Capital ImprovementsNon-Routine Capital Projects’ Impact on 2012 Operating BudgetCurrent Acquisitions and Development to be completed 2011-2012Below are highlights of a few projects that have already broken ground and will be completed bythe end of the FY2012. Further breakdown of these costs can be found in the separate CapitalImprovement Plan issued by the District.DevelopmentsMoore PlaygroundThis renovation project included removal ofasphalt and concrete surfacing, excavation andsite grading, implementation of newunderground site utilities, installation of new 2-5and 5-12 year old playground structurescomplete with rubberized soft surfacing. A newswing set, new water feature and drinkingfountain, picnic tables, benches, ornamental ironfencing and improved landscaping were alsoinstalled. No impact on the operating budget.Mt. Greenwood ParkExterior Work: New accessible curbs at mainentrance drop-off area, restripe existing accessibleparking spaces with signage, new easily operatedlobby doors, new ramps and sidewalks at both sidesof gym that provides access to pool, improvement ofexisting pavement near skating rink, new accessible2-tier drinking fountains throughout the park, newbenches that includes accessible seating.Interior Work: New lobby doors at main entranceand floor mats, restroom improvements providingnew accessible toilets and sinks, new lockers andseating and accessible showers in locker rooms, newaccessible kitchenette with microwave, sink andcook-top, easily operated new door hardware andsignage throughout building and relocation of doorexiting to pool to provide accessible clearance. Noimpact on the operating budget.61
