Detailed RevenueRecreational and Cultural Program FeesRecreation and cultural program revenues are generated by fees paid by participants. The<strong>District</strong> charges a set amount for a variety of programs, such as day camp, cultural events,concession permits, etc. Revenue sources include fees from sports programs such as ice skating,softball, tennis and racquetball; as well as revenue from other programs such as Theater on theLake, day camp fees, and any fees for special class registrations. Fees are tiered based uponsocioeconomic factors of the community. The <strong>District</strong> also has instituted alternative paymentoptions to ensure that all residents have the opportunity to enjoy the cultural and recreationalofferings that the <strong>District</strong> has to offer. Therefore, for <strong>2012</strong> we are not increasing any program or cultural related fees. In fact,in <strong>2012</strong> a family discount will be available for families who enroll multiple family members inour programs and free for active military members and a discount for active military familymembers. For <strong>2012</strong>, Program fee revenue is budgeted .7% over the 2011 budget.Northerly Island VenueNortherly Island is a 91- acre peninsula that juts into Lake Michigan at the heart of the MuseumCampus. It is located just south of the AdlerPlanetarium and east of Soldier Field. The majority ofthis space is dedicated to nature. The nature area atNortherly Island features beautiful strolling paths,casual play areas and a spectacular view of the<strong>Chicago</strong> skyline.The 7,500 seat Charter One Pavilion also located onthe Island hosts concerts from some of today's mostpopular artists along with family matinee events.
