Barracuda News1 st Edition Summer 2013Last Week is a Busy OneThe last week of the season comes fast and is really busy. With meet entries due on Monday, a dual meet with Woodstockon Tuesday, our inter-squad meet on Thursday, conferencemeet on Saturday, and the end of the season banquet onSunday, it makes for quite a finish at the end of the season. On Tuesday we lost a close battle with Woodstock on a hotmuggy night. The bugs were fierce and we battled a cloudypool and by the last few events you couldn’t even see what wasgoing on after the sun slipped away. We still managed to have100 best times at that meet.At the inter-squad meet it was interesting to see what eventseach swimmer picked for themselves. We offered a widevariety of events and the kids took advantage of swimmingsome events they don’t always get to swim.At the conference meet we had a total of 319 swims. Of thoseswims, 179 of them were best times for the season. Wedropped down one place from last year’s results. Next seasonwe will prepare to climb back up. As a result from this meet,McHenry will move to the “B” conference and The Crystal LakeCountry Club will join the “A” conference. It was fun seeing everyone at the banquet and the kids reallyseem to enjoy themselves. I can’t believe the season is overalready.July 23rd, 2013ConferenceSummaryTeam ScoreDeKalb 2622.50Geneva 1503Woodstock 1286Cary 1204Huntley 1076McHenry 857.50
