This section describes the connection of the two interfaces. For theconnection of WAN interface provided by the SIC/MIM, please refer to the Low-End andMid-Range Series Routers Interface Card and Interface Module Manual.4.7.1 Connecting the AUX port to the ModemI. Introduction to the AUX portAs an RS232-compliant asynchronous serial interface, the AUX port can be used asthe backup of other WAN interface in the dial-up mode. In the event that the consoleport fails, the AUX port can serve as a console port.
