Simrad SP904.3 Menu operationIntroductionThe menu system on the SP90 sonar is designed to allow for easyand fast access to the parameters.The menu can be removed from the screen.Some of the parameters (for example Range, Gain and Tilt) canbe controlled both from the button on the menu and from buttonson the Sonar Operating Panel. The parameter values shown on themenu buttons will then change according to the setting made on thepanel.It is also possible to operate the sonar with a standard computermouse.38 850--164511 / B
OperationScreen presentationsThe menu can be set up for permanent display, or available onlywhen required for parameter alterations. The Menu button on theSonar Operating Panel is used to select Menu or Full Screenpresentation.Figure 9 Typical screen presentation withthe menu on the right hand sideIn Menu presentation, the menu is always shown on the right handside of the display, and the size of the echo area will be reduced.When Full Screen is selected, the echo presentation is extended tocover the entire display.→ A standard menu presentation is shown in figure 9.→ A full screen presentation with the menu disabled is shown infigure 10.Once the menu has been disabled, observe the following procedureto recall it for temporary use.1 Use the trackball, and move the cursor to the outmost leftorright hand side on the display.2 Observe the menu appear on top of the echo area, and that theremaining echo area is not re-scaled.3 Move the cursor outside the menu, and observe that itdisappears.→ The position of the temporary menu is shown in figure 11.850--164511 / B39
