Simrad SP904.2 Start and stop proceduresNoteBefore you start the sonar, check that the water depth is sufficient,and that the vessel’s speed is within the maximum speed specifiedwith the transducer lowered.Start procedureObserve the following procedure to power up the sonar.MAIN SW.UpMiddleDown1 Press the Power button on the monitor to power up thedisplay monitor.2 Press and hold the red Power button on the Sonar OperatingPanel for approximately two seconds to start the sonar.- The green LED next to the button indicates that the sonarstarts loading the program. After approximately one anda half minutes the sonar picture will be displayed.3 Press the Down button to move the transducer to the lowerposition.- The green LED next to the button will flash, and anaudible signal indicates that the transducer movesdownwards.- When the bottom position has been reached, the LED willilluminate continuously, the audible signal stops, and thetop button in the Status parameter dialogue shows:Transducer: DOWN.This completes the normal start-up procedure.In case of power failure, or if the switch S102 at the rear side of theSonar Processor Unit has been switched off, the sonar must bestarted by pressing the start switch S103. This switch is locatedbehind the small front door on the Sonar Processor Unit.Stop procedure1 Press the Up button on the Sonar Operating Panel to hoist thetransducer to the upper position.- The green LED next to the button will flash, and anaudible signal indicates that the transducer is hoisted..When the upper position has been reached, the LED willilluminate continuously, the audible signal stops, and theupper button in the Status menu shows: Transducer: UP.2 Press and hold the Power button approximately two secondsto switch off the sonar.36 850--164511 / B
