System description1.3 OptionsGeneralThe standard <strong>SP90</strong> is a single 26 kHz version with maximum 60degrees tilt, and without beam stabilization.Note that the options described below are pre-programmed into thestandard version. A code word is required to make the actual optionavailable. <strong>Simrad</strong> offers a 1 month free test period for each option.→ To enter the code words, refer to the procedure on page 49.For a permanent installation of any of the option, a new code wordwill be released when ordering the option.Stabilization systemWhen the optional beam stabilizer is activated, both horizontal andvertical beams will be stabilized electronically for roll and pitchmovements up to ±20 degrees. The beam direction will thenchange continuously according to the vessel’s movements, andsecure an optimal contact with the targets even in rough seas.Figure 2Optional stabilization systemTriple- or multiple-frequencyIn addition to the standard 26 kHz frequency, options are availablefor triple and multiple frequencies.• In the triple-frequency version, you can select between 24 kHz,26 kHz and 28 kHz.• In the multiple-frequency version you can select from 11frequenciesfrom20to30kHzin1kHzsteps.These selections are particulary useful when it is necessary tosuppress interference from other sonars.850--164511 / B5
