We have been pleased to have comanagedthe event with the Dimler families since it’s inception. This, if you didn’t know already, is a very serious agriculture operation both on the grainand cattle sides of things. The cattle sector of Double Bar D is our focus for this event which is now being held in mid February.The two year old bulls were a HUGE highlight at this sale last year. They offered as many choices in their pen as any that I’ve probably seen. Theseherdsires are created from the same nucleus of cows as the high quality group as last year’s. The sire codes will vary from a year ago but the “Juggernaut”sire group will be noticed in ‘13. One of the only other subtle differences is these bulls are born more in an early fall window rather than anearly summer one as last year’s were.The yearling Simmental bulls are the originals to the Double Bar D Bull Sale and some “big name”, high selling, industry leaders have come out of thisgroup over the years. It is difficult to be super specific to individuals as there is a lot of depth here. Commercial and registered breeders alike will needto make lists of Black, Fullblood and Red Simmental Bulls that can be purchased as one or more depending on your cowherd’s 2013 needs.To be the “second” breed within an operation always puts them in a position of being over-shadowed but the Red Angus bulls have progressed theiracceptance steadily over the years. I have always said that the Dimlers have raised their Red Angus as to the type they like rather than breed simplyfor “fads” and “numbers”. Thusly they have generally created a little thicker than normal Red Angus product for the public.The female end of things is always a “buffet” for the discriminating breeder. The female herd has been built by purchasing into top cow families. So inessence the females will carry some very intentional genetic makeups that feature some of the very best cows at Double Bar D including past, presentand future donor cows.You will be treated to one of the best pre-sale meals anywhere so be here early sale day to see the cattle and to claim your spot in the lunch line.
