12BChapter 13: Configuring network settingsConfiguring multicastSetting up multicasting resolves limitation issues when streaming videos througha network access device. A multicast address spans the Class-D IP range of224.0.0.0 to 239.255.255.255. We recommend that the IP address range of239.252.0.0 to 239.255.255.255 be used.To set up multicasting:1. Enter the Network Settings screen by selecting Network in the main menu.2. Click the Advanced tab.3. Enter a Multicast IP address.Note: When adding a device to the Network Video Surveillance software, themulticast address must be the same as the DVR’s multicast IP.4. Click OK to save and exit menu.Configuring the server and HTTP PortsYou can change the server and HTTP ports from the default settings in theNetwork Settings screen. The default server port is 8000 while the default HTTPport is 80.To change the default ports:1. Enter the Network Settings screen by selecting Network in the main menu.2. Click the Advanced tab.3. The HTTP port is used for remote internet browseraccessConfiguring e-mail settingsYour DVR can send e-mail notifications of alarms or notifications through thenetwork.Note: Ensure that the DNS address has been set up correctly beforehand.To configure e-mail settings:1. Enter the Network Settings screen by selecting Network in the main menu.2. Click the Advanced tab.3. Click Setup next to Email to enter the Email screen.4. Enter a User Name and Password.5. Enter the SMTP Server from whom the notification is sent.6. Enter values for the From Name and From Email Address fields.These values display the sender’s name and e-mail address in the outgoinge-mail.7.
