Multistage Centrifugal Blowers

Construction and benefitsHibon blowers are fabricated using the most advancedprocesses, with digital control machining for thehighest precision level. Each unit is tested and a reportis issued showing vibration data.Specific design features:• Blower inlet/outlet heads and intermediatesections are fabricated of cast iron ASTMA 48-30B (FGL 200) for an outstandingstrength.• Impellers are of cast or riveted aluminumalloy, depending on the flow characteristicsrequired. They are statically and dynamicallybalanced for efficient operationwithout vibration.• There are ample internal clearances, withno interference fitting surfaces,offeringspark-free operation.• Shaft is SAE 10-45 (XC 38) steel.• Bearing housings are fabricated of ASTM A48-38B (FGL 200) cast iron, temperaturestabilizedand precision-machined toensure parallel alignment to the casing.Additionally, the housing is designed toprevent pressurization from the process air, thus eliminating any potential oil leaks.• Carbon ring seals within the bearinghousing reduce air leaks while improvingcompression efficiency.• Compressed air/gas is guaranteed 100%oil free.• Type C3 ball bearings are designed for100,000 hours, AFBMA-B10 (NF ISO 281LH10) service life. They are oil bath lubricated,by means of an advanced designfactory preset lubricator, which assures aconstant oil level for long service life.

State of the Art Control SystemsIngersoll Rand is an ISO 9001 certified company, quality-orientedthroughout its operations, including its employees’ qualificationsand production performance. Blowers are selected on the basisof characteristic curves that are validated on an automated ASMEcertified test bench. Curves are established utilizing the samesoftware as used in aeronautics for airflow in aircraft turbines.Process and Instrumentation DiagramControl SystemThe functional design of each unit allows itto be equipped with a control panel usinga programmable logic controller with anoperator interface for a highly user-friendlyoperation. This control panel will acceptinputs from instrumentation, such as RTDsensors, vibration switches, dissolved oxygenmeters, and pressure transmitters. In addition, the control panel monitors start/stop sequences. It allows for programming toautomatically maintain constant air and gasflow rate, based on data from the operatoror an external signal from the processcontrollers such as dissolved oxygen, pressureand temperature sensors.A programmable controller is used withcomponents that are commercially available. This controller operates with Hibon software, optimized and adapted for each particularapplication.

Packaging OptionsAvailable Equipment Options:• Double carbon ring seals with purge by an inert gas.• Corrosion-resistant coatings for casing and impeller.• Double enclosure housing for explosion-proof construction.• Performance tested in accordance with the latest ASME PTC 10 standards.• Variable Frequency Drive packages complete with Controls.Multistage Centrifugal Blower Flow and Pressure RangeRangeHibon blowers meet the most demandingindustrial/municipal requirements forvibration, noise and efficiency. Hibonblowers can deliver 500 CFM to 25,000CFM of dry/clean air without fluctuations,at pressures up to 20 psig (1.3 bar) and avacuum up to 15 inches of mercury (500 mbarabsolute).Unit AssemblyBlower assembly is specifically designed toprovide a compact and complete unit, with special attention to alignment of themotor/blower base assembly, for a vibrationfreesolution.Unit with gearboxMany accessories are available to suitenvironmental and operating requirements, such as an inlet filter/silencer, a modulatinginlet/discharge valve, flexible couplings, andcheck valves. No special foundation or anchors arerequired for the unit, allowing it toadvantageously replace any existinginstallation with a minimum of modifications.
