Do no cooking inthe living tent: it attracts flies and vermin.The best cooking stoves for campers are thosespecially designed for the purpose, and burningwood. There are many patterns, of varying merit.Do not buy a folding stove for ordinary camping:they are bothersome and flimsy.I leave out of account stoves without ovens (Tcan see no good reason for a stove at all unless it hasan oven). There are shown here three differenttypes of sheet steel camp stoves, each good in its way.The first one (Figs. 32, 33) is very compact, yetlarge enough to cook for four persons, or six in apinch.
