The cloth is shrunkbefore making up, but will do some more shrinkingfrom repeated wettings <strong>and</strong> washings, so get a sizelarger than what is worn at home. Gray is also agood color for overshirts.Neckerchiefs.— A neckerchief worn with thepeak in front is convenient to wipe perspiration fromthe face. Slewed around the other way, it shieldsthe neck from sunburn. In a high wind, or indense thickets, k can be used to hold the hat on bytying over the head ; <strong>and</strong> it will protect one's earswhen frost nips.
