Chapter 7General DiscussionPrevious controlled trials established that Interapy, a particular form <strong>of</strong> online CognitiveBehaviour <strong>The</strong>rapy (<strong>CBT</strong>), yielded promising results in the treatment <strong>of</strong> posttraumaticstress. This raises the question whether similar positive results may beachieved with other mental health disorders, <strong>and</strong> whether online <strong>CBT</strong> performs wellin routine clinical practice. In the preceding chapters, we presented several studiesthat were designed to examine the efficacy <strong>and</strong> effectiveness <strong>of</strong> online <strong>CBT</strong>. In thisfinal chapter, we reflect on the aggregated evidence. What are our key findings? Whatare the strengths <strong>and</strong> limitations <strong>of</strong> the present studies? How do these findings informclinical practice <strong>and</strong> future research initiatives? And finally, what general conclusionscan be drawn with respect to the efficacy <strong>and</strong> effectiveness <strong>of</strong> online <strong>CBT</strong>?125
