Series 10 Sucker Rod Overshots<br />
Bowen ® Series 10 Sucker Rod Overshots<br />
NOV Downhole Bowen ® Series 10 Releasing Sucker Rod<br />
Overshots are the best available tools for engaging and retrieving<br />
sucker rods, couplings, and similar items from inside tubing<br />
strings. Series 10 Overshots are available in sizes to engage up<br />
to 2 5/16” O.D. inside of 2 7/8” tubing and up to 1 5/8” O.D. inside<br />
2 3/8” tubing.<br />
Construction<br />
The Bowen ® Series 10 Overshot consists of a Top Sub, a Bowl,<br />
a Spiral Grapple and a Control Guide. When a Basket Grapple is<br />
used in the Series 10 assembly, a Basket Grapple Control and a<br />
Plain Guide are required.<br />
Operation<br />
To engage & pull the fish: Connect the Overshot to the fishing<br />
string and run it in the hole and lower it slowly over the fish while<br />
rotating slowly to the right. Allow any twist to slack out of the fishing<br />
string and then pull on the fish by elevating the fishing string.<br />
To release from the fish: Drop the weight of the fishing string<br />
heavily against the Overshot, then simultaneously rotate to the<br />
right and slowly elevate the fishing string until the Overshot is<br />
clear of the fish. To release from a recovered fish, follow the same<br />
procedure while holding the fish below the Overshot.<br />
RECOMMENDED SPARE PARTS:<br />
Spiral: 2 grapples, 1 control<br />
Basket: 2 grapples, 1 grapple control<br />

(1) Grapples available in 1/16” intervals.<br />
FS (Full Strength) Engineered to withstand all pulling, torsional and jarring strain.<br />
SFS (Semi Full Strength) Engineered for special hole conditions and maximum<br />
strength.<br />
SH (Slim Hole) Engineered to withstand heavy pulling strains only.<br />
