Ko Olina MarinaAs we move through the winter and intospring, we reflect back to the last time wewrote and are reminded of all the rain we havehad during the first months of 2005. We can’tremember seeing so much rain in a threemonthperiod ever, but if that’s the price wehave to pay to live and work in paradise, thenso be it. Our temperatures presently averagein the low 80’s during the day and dip into thehigh 60’s in the evenings. In the past few months the marina hasreached 97% sustained occupancy and is nowapproaching full capacity. We have begunconstruction of our Phase II expansion andhope to complete the in-water work by earlysummer, and to accept boats by July 2005.On December 14 we had our 5th AnnualParade of Lights. It was a great success, attracting18 boats and 250 guests. This annualevent is popular with everyone, not just boaters. We have resort guests who plan their vacationsaround the parade, so they will be hereto enjoy the festivities. The marina again donatedthe turkey, mashed potatoes and gravyfor dinner. This year the winning boat was “FoxGirl,” owned by Jim Kellerwith. It had a dolphintheme and was decorated with over athousand lights. Jim took home a $300 giftcertificate from West Marine.Water Spout off Ko Olina MarinaAll the marina staff is still doing well.
