Operations that may be straightforward in daylight— approach, maintaining station, passing andtending rigs — become more difficult and complicatedafter dark. All ships must maintain a capability to replenish atnight. To ensure proficiency, fleet, task group, and typecommanders should schedule night replenishment exercisesfor their ships at frequent intervals.2.5.1 Preparations for Night Operations. Preparationsfor night operations on both the delivery and receivingships include:1. Ensuring that required station marker light boxesare ready for operation2.
