The merchanttanker can request technical personnel assistance fromfleet units. This assistance will be provided if otherfleet maintenance priorities permit.E.8.3 Tender Repair Work. The merchant tankermay request repair services from Navy tenders subjectto approval by the fleet commander and only whenother sources, such as ship repair facilities, are notavailable.
