<strong>NWP</strong> 4-<strong>01.4</strong>(3) DELIVERY SHIPOperate the inhaul and outhaul winches to positionthe trolley over the load being returned.TENSIONED(4) RECEIVING SHIP1. Secure the CDR hook to the sling, pull the lanyardto release the brake, and take up all slack inthe CDR’s cable.2. Maintain the brake released and signal the deliverystation to raise the transfer head.OUTHAUL(5) BOTH SHIPSCARGO DROPREELThe delivery station raises the transfer head to thefull-up position. The receiving station releases thebrake release lanyard to set the brake immediatelywhen the transfer head starts to raise. The load shouldlift clear of the deck. Returning Empty PelletsIf several loads are being returned and no loads arebeing sent, the delivery station should use the CDR inaddition to the transfer head to lower returned loads toher deck, in lieu of lowering the transfer head to thefull-down position. When the load is on the deliverystation’s deck and is released from the hook, leave thehook extended and return the trolley and CDR to the receivingstation for the next load.6.15.8 Heavy Load Return With Threefold. Usea threefold tackle provided by the delivery station to returnloads in excess of 150 lb (68 kg). The delivery stationsends the receiving station (1) the SURF with thethreefold shackled to the padeye on the SURF and (2)the trolley and CDR with the CDR hook extended. Thereceiving station prepares for load return by (1) attachingthe CDR hook to the load and (2) securing thethreefold’s quick-release hook to a shackle on theCDR hook. Line handlers at the receiving station haulin on the threefold to lift the load as the CDR raises theCDR hook.6-52 ORIGINAL
