Connect the phone and establish voice communicationwith the delivery station.5. Continue to haul in the messenger.(3) DELIVERY SHIP1. Haul in the lead line messenger. When the zero endof the phone/distance line is aboard, attach it to theoutermost rail, clear of the transfer station. Fakedown the lead line messenger free for running anddisconnect it from the phone/distance line.2. Raise the STREAM transfer head to the full-upposition. Pay out the highline.3. Ensure the highline ASD is ON. On stationswhere the ASD is located outboard of the ramtensioner, the ASD shall be used to pull the slackwire through the ram tensioner. This will assistpersonnel at the receiving station in hauling thehighline across and prevent fouling of thehighline winch.(4) RECEIVING SHIP. (See Figure 6-21.)1. Haul in the messenger until the highline comesaboard.NoteBefore attaching the pelican hook, makesure that the messenger is not twisted aroundthe highline. If it is twisted, the SURF willnot haul in close enough to latch the STARto the STAR probe.2. Attach the pelican hook to the long link on thepadeye or pendant. (Cut the first stop if necessary.)Use the correct cotter pin (see Figure 2-21).3. Install the easing-out line through the pelicanhook’s long link and secure.Note• If rigging to a sliding padeye with the easing-outpadeye and staple on the traveling carriage,install the easing-out line through thepelican hook. Coil and stop off (with sailtwine) to the pelican hook.• If rigging to a sliding-padeye or sliding-padeyeblock with the easing-out padeye and staple onthe kingpost, secure the easing-out line to thepadeye.
