Haul in trolley No. 1 to allow slack in the hoseand hand-tend the 60-foot (18.3 m) section to acleat.5. Unshackle the 90-degree elbow coupling. Stopthe jumper hose and 90-degree elbow couplingunder trolley No. 1 similar to the receivedconfiguration.7. Signal the delivery ship to retrieve the hose.8. Upon signal, disconnect the span line, ease itover the side, and release the span line.4.11.2.3 Accidental Uncoupling. By design thenontensioned spanline fuel rig will break at its automaticcoupling when subjected to a tensile force of500 lb (227 kg). Although the incidence of an accidentaluncoupling is very low, a standard procedure to followwhen it occurs can safely expedite resumption ofthe operation. In the event of an accidental uncoupling,proceed as follows:1. If the uncoupling occurs while fuel or water isbeing transferred, signal the delivery ship tocease pumping.6. Slack off the 60-foot (18.3 m) section holdingtrolley No. 1.4-16 ORIGINAL
