Ensure that all probe latches are latched.7. Ensure that all necessary rigging, working andrepair tools, and safety equipment are on stationand that personnel are briefed, properly dressed,and on station.(2) RECEIVING SHIP1. Install a 12-inch (304.8 mm) wood or metalmessenger fairlead block (see Figure 3-6).2. Install deck fairlead snatch blocks (as necessary)and prereeve small stuff for the messenger lead.3. Remove the covers from the probe receivers andverify that the seals in the bell housings are notdamaged and are lubricated.4. Provide on station an easing-out line for the spanwire (see paragraph 2.2.11.5) and a short strapand a long strap (see paragraph 3.7.2.10). Fordouble-probe receivers, a remating line is alsoneeded (see paragraph 3.7.2.3).5. Ensure that all necessary rigging, working andrepair tools, and safety equipment are on stationand that personnel are briefed, properly dressed,and on station.6. A probe breakaway tool may be provided as analternate means of tripping the pelican hook.NoteA remating line, a long strap, and a shortstrap must be provided on station whenreceiving at double-probe receivers.3.11.3 Passing Fuel STREAM With DoubleProbe. A receiving ship with deck-loaded aircraft willprovide all shot lines and bolos. When the receiving shipprovides an individual shot line for a remotely locatedphone/distance line, it attaches the lead line messenger tothe zero end of the phone/distance line and then to theshot line. The delivery ship hauls over the line.When the delivery ship provides an individual shot linefor a remotely located phone/distance line, it passes theshot line with the lead line messenger for the phone/distanceline attached. When the lead line messenger is receivedon board, the receiving ship disconnects the leadline messenger, attaches it to light line at the zero end ofthe phone/distance line, and signals the delivery ship tohaul in.3-39 ORIGINAL
