8 Operation8.1.4 Servomotor with BrakesStep Description Check Method and Remarks7 Adjust the servo gain and improve the servomotorresponse characteristics, if necessary.8 Write the parameters set for maintenance in 11.4Parameter Recording Table. Then the trial operation with the servomotor connectedto the machine is completed.8.1.4 Servomotor with BrakesHolding brake operation of the servomotor with brake can be controlled with the brake interlock output (/BK)signal of the SERVOPACK.When checking the brake operation, take advance measures to prevent vibration due to gravity acting on themachine or external forces. Check the servomotor operation and holding brake operation with the servomotorseparated from the machine. If both operations are correct, connect the servomotor and perform trial operation. For wiring on a servomotor with brakes and parameter settings, refer to 8.3.4 Setting for Holding Brakes.8.1.5 Position Control by Host ControllerRefer to 9.1 Autotuning. The servomotor will not be broken in completely duringthe trial operation. Therefore, let the system runfor a sufficient amount of additional time to ensure thatit is properly broken in.As described above, be sure to separate the servomotor and machine before performing trial operation of the servomotorwithout a load. Refer to the following table, and check the servomotor operation and specifications inadvance.−HostcontrollerPosition controlAnalogspeedreferenceSERVOPACKSpeed controlMTrial operation forservomotor without load.Reference fromthe HostControllerJOG Operation(ConstantReference SpeedInput fromHost Controller)SimplePositioningOvertravel(P-OT andN-OT Used)Check Item Check Method Review ItemsMotor SpeedNo. of motor rotationWhether the servomotorstops rotatingwhen P-OT and N-OTsignals are inputCheck motor speed as follows:• Use the motor speed monitor(Un000) on the panel operator.• Run the servomotor at low speed.Input a reference speed of 60 min -1for example to check to see if theservomotor makes one revolutionper second.Input a reference equivalent to onemotor rotation and visually check tosee if the shaft makes one revolution.Check to see if the servomotor stopswhen P-OT and N-OT signals areinput during continuous servomotoroperation.Check the parameter setting atPn300 to see if reference speedgain is correct.Check the parameter setting atPn201 to see if the number of PGdividing pulses is correct.Review P-OT and N-OT wiring ifthe servomotor does not stop.ReferenceSection8.5.18.5.78.3.38-16
