President Shri Nitin Gadkari, supporting the causeof the traders, stated that Indian economy, at present,is dominated by the services sector, which accountsfor 58 per cent of India’s GDP. “Foreign DirectInvestment, with deep pockets, entering this segmentwill have an adverse impact on our domestic retailsector.”In Delhi big markets like Karol Bagh, SadarBazar, Kamla Nagar, Chawri Bazar, Kashmere Gate,Tilak Nagar, Rohini, Krishna Nagar and GreaterKailash M Block remained closed including SarojiniNagar and INA markets.BJP joined the traders’ protest by organisingmarches and burnt the effigies of Prime MinisterManmohan Singh and Delhi Chief Minister SheilaDikshit in at least 20 locations of the city.Addressing the activists and traders, Delhi BJPPresident Shri Vijender Gupta said the party hadfully supported the Bharat Bandh. He said the BJPworkers burnt the effigy of the Congress governmentat 20 prominent places of the capital city in protestagainst the decision and the party will also make itsmovement stronger on the issue.
