Followthe instructions on the download site for selectingthe correct driver package and to start theinstallation wizard.For more details on using the OneWireViewer, pleasesee the following application notes:Application Note 4373: OneWireViewer andiButton® Quick Start GuideApplication Note 3358: OneWireViewer User’sGuideDS9092KIMPORTANT: Do not install the DS9490R intoyour USB port until you have completed theinstallation wizard in the previous step.After running the 1-Wire installation wizard, makesure you have internet available and plug theDS9490R USB adapter in to a free USB port inyour PC. Windows will continue the installation ofthe USB driver but first search the Microsoft websitefor updates. If you do not have internetavailable, the USB driver installation process canhang up for more than 10 minutes before it timesout.Plug the RJ-11 Modular connector of theDS1402D-DR8 Blue Dot Receptor into theDS9490R USB adapter.__________Software DevelopmentFor developing applications for the Thermochron aswell as other iButtons, Maxim offers three softwaredevelopment kits (SDKs):Optionally snap the iButton into the key fob. Thismakes easier removal of the iButton from the BlueDot Receptor.Start OneWireViewer software by clicking on itsicon. This application may also be found underMicrosoft Start under the folder ‘‘1-Wire Driversx86’’.Snap the iButton (optionally with key fob) into theBlue Dot Receptor and you will see its addressdisplayed. Click on the address to accessscreens that show all the functions of eachiButton. Then, follow the instructions formissioning and reading the contents of aThermochron.1-Wire SDK for Windows. This SDK is aimedprimarily at PC host environments running MicrosoftWindows. The kit contains sample programs in C#,VB.NET, VB 6.0, C, and Delphi, along with HTMLdocumentation for help in utilizing our Windows APIs.These APIs include the 1-Wire API for .NET, the muchsmaller 1-Wire API for Microsoft’s Compact .NETFramework (Windows CE/Mobile), and the TMEX APIat the lowest level.
