They are assuming huge proportions, gigantic shapes. They can only be solved whenlooked at in the broader light of international grounds.International organizations, international combinations,international laws are the cry of the day. That showsthe solidarity. In Science every day they are finding outthat view of the matter. You speak of matter, the wholeuniverse as one mass, one ocean of matter in which youand I, the sun and the moon and everything else are butthe names of different little whirlpools and nothing more.Mentally speaking, it is one universal ocean of thoughtin which you and I are similar little whirlpools and asspirit it moveth not, it changeth not. It is the OneUnchangeable, Unbroken, Homogeneous Atman. The cryfor morality is coming also, and that is in our books. Theexplanation of morality, the fountain of ethics, that also theworld wants ;and this they will get.What do we want in India ? If foreigners want thesethings, we want them twenty times more. Because in spiteof the greatness of the Upanishads, in spite of our boastedancestry of sages, compared to many other races I musttell you in plain words we are weak, very weak. First ofall is our physical weakness. That physical weakness isthe cause at least of one-third of our miseries. We are lazy ^
