GOD IN EVERYTHING. 333world without knowing the truth, he has not reached thegoal, he has missed his footing. And if a man curses thewo;^ld, mortifies his flesh, goes into a forest, and killshimself bit by bit, by starving himself, makes his hearta barren waste, into a desert, kills out all his feeling,becomes stern, awful, dried-up, that man also has missedthe way. These are the two extremes, the two mistakes ateither end* Both have lost the way,the goal.both have missedThus, says the Yenanta, thus work, putting God ineverything, and knowing Him to be in everything, thusworking incessantly, thus holding life a something deified,as God Himself, and knowing that this is all we have to do rthis is all we have to ask for/ because God is here in everything ;where else shall I go to find Him ? In every work yin every thought, in every feeling, He is already there.Thus knowing, we must work, and this is the only way ;there is no other way. Thus the effects of work will notbind us down. You will not be injured by the effects ofwork. We have seen how these false desires are the causesof all the misery and evil we suffer, but when they arethus deified, purified, through God, when they come theybring no evil, they bring no misery. Those who have notlearned this secret will have to live in a demoniacal worlduntil they discover the secret. Persons do not knowwhat an infinite mine of blissfulness and pleasure andhappiness is here, in them, around them everywhere, andyet they have not discovered it. What is a demoniacalworld ? The Vedanta says Ignorance.Says the Vedanta, we are dying of thirst sitting onthe banks of the mightiest river. We are dying of hungersitting near piles of food. Here is the blissful Universe.
