Now, if you carry that logicto its conclusion, there must come a time when that powerthat was in the amoeba and came out to man will have conquered all the obstructions that nature can bring before it,and will have got out of its environments. This idea broughtinto metaphysics would be expressed thus, that there aretwo components of every action, the one the subject andthe other the object. For instance, I feel unhappy becausea man scolds me. These are the two parts, and what is mystruggle all my life ? To make myself strong so as to conscold and I shall notquer that environment, so that he mayfeel. That is how we are trying to conquer. What ismeant by morality? How do you knowthat Nature is finite ? You can only know this throughmetaphysics. Nature is that Infinite under limitations.Therefore it is finite.
