But the soluti<strong>on</strong> to improved health status for the majoritycan be achieved by promoting <str<strong>on</strong>g>and</str<strong>on</strong>g> supporting exclusive breastfeeding for the first 6 m<strong>on</strong>ths of life <str<strong>on</strong>g>and</str<strong>on</strong>g> c<strong>on</strong>tinued breastfeedingfor at least 12 m<strong>on</strong>ths <str<strong>on</strong>g>and</str<strong>on</strong>g> thereafter for as l<strong>on</strong>g as mutually desired.It is time to embrace exclusive breastfeeding as ideal behavior <str<strong>on</strong>g>and</str<strong>on</strong>g> find ways to eliminate unnecessary use of infant formula.
