Thepractice of bhakti-yoga referred to is that which is done by brahmanas as theyserve the Deities in the temple. Famous instances of prapatti are seen in thelives of the Alvars, the 12 transcendentalists whose teachings form thefoundation of the Sri Sampradaya doctrine. About whether this has anything todo with the Christian "only faith" idea, well, that's a dogma. Prapatti is nota dogma opposed to other dogmas.
