Dear Neighbor; Children swinging, playing baseball, riding a bike, taking a walk…our parks and local recreation opportunities are the things that truly bring people and communities together. We are particularly fortunate to have so many great opportunities to enjoy the outdoors here in the Snoqualmie Valley. As Mayors of Duvall and Carnation, we want to help more people take advantage of our beautiful parks and all of the great recreation programs available. We are pleased to present the second edition of the Park & Recreation Guide serving the residents of the greater Duvall – Carnation area. There are so many terrific things to do in our communities. Please take some time this year to visit a park you haven’t been to before or take a class offered through a local organization. We also have lots to offer when it comes to special events, Duvall Days June 2, Carnation 4th of July and the Carnation and Duvall Farmers Markets all summer long, are just a few of the great events your family can enjoy. The City of Duvall, with the help of our neighbors and citizens, has made many improvements to our Park system in the last few years. Whether it’s Central Park, the new Little League Field and Skate Park at the Big Rock Sports Park, the upgraded Taylor Park Playground, or the new multi-use field at Big Rock Sports Park we are building this year, we are committed to serving the needs of our community. The City of Carnation is looking for volunteers for our Parks and Recreation Board to create a new Parks & Recreation Plan for the community. We are looking forward to identifying ways we can improve our local parks and provide more recreation opportunities in Carnation. It is a pleasure serving our citizens and we look forward to the future and growing our Park system to serve the variety of needs of our residents.
