PCBS: West Bank Northern Governorates Statistical Yearbook, 2011IntroductionSince its inception, PCBS has sought to build a system of Palestinian official statistics based onthe needs of the society and in line with recommended standards, including full membership inthe international statistical community. PCBS has adopted the principle of progression withinexisting Palestinian priorities as the basis for work towards developing the statistical system.PCBS has accomplished many statistical activities using primary sources, including censusesand field surveys, and secondary sources such as administrative records in cooperation withpublic and private sector institutions.We are pleased to present the West Bank Northern Governorates Statistical Yearbook 2011 toprovide continuous time series data of general trends in different areas through acomprehensive statistical reference that covers most population, social, economic, andgeographic areas.This book is one of the most important and comprehensive official statistical references relatingto the West Bank Northern Governorates.The yearbook is divided into three chapters: the first chapter defines the main indicatorsrelating to the West Bank Northern Governorates. The second chapter explains themethodology of data collection, in addition to details regarding data quality and estimates ofdata sources.
