Non-break Tung Oil is produced by heating Tung Oil to a hightemperature and filtering out any residue. The oil will age without any discoloration and will not have adisagreeable odor. Mohawk Tung Oil dries by oxidation rather than mere solvent loss. Oxidation is a reactionbetween the coating and oxygen in the air. The rate at which Tung Oil dries will therefore be dependent on thevolume of air that passes over the finished work and the room temperature.Advantages:1. Easy to use.2. Clear finish that does not darken with age.3. Safe to use, non-toxic when dry.4. Surface scratches are easily removed by buffing with steel wool and Tung Oil.5. Wide choice of application methods.6. Low flammability.7. Economical, high coverage per gallon of finish.Product Limitations:1. Many factors influence dry time of Tung Oil:• Volume of air available.• Thickness of coat applied.• Relative humidity in the air.• Altitude of applicator’s shop - more or less oxygen in the air.2. No reduction or thinning is required.Directions: Apply Tung Oil only after finish sanding and the wood is dust free and clean. Wood moisturecontent should be less than 10%. The application of Tung Oil is very easy. Simply brush or rag on Tung Oil.Keep surface “wet” for at least 15 minutes to insure penetration into wood pores. Wipe off all excess after adwell time of 15 minutes. Allow 24 hours drying. Repeat with a second coat of Tung Oil. The more coats ofTung Oil applied, the higher the gloss.Application of 2 thin coats is preferred to a residual flood coat. Tung Oil can be applied to new or stripped woodto achieve a rubbed oil appearance.Safety Cautions: Contents are COMBUSTIBLE. Keep away from heat, sparks and open flame. During useand until all vapors are gone, keep area well ventilated.Avoid breathing vapor and spray mist. USE ONLY WITH ADEQUATE VENTILATION. Avoid contact withskin and eyes. Wash hands after using.Keep container closed when not in use.
