<strong>NCC</strong> Holiday CardFirst Place<strong>Norwalk</strong> <strong>Community</strong> <strong>College</strong> has produceda holiday greeting card created by <strong>NCC</strong> faculty,or students in Fine Art or Graphic Design classes,for many years. Back in the not too distant past,a design contest was started to encourage studentparticipation.In early October, when it’s still warm enoughto go swimming at the beach, John Alvord, Chairof the Art, Architecture and Design departmentputs out a call for student entries in the <strong>NCC</strong>Holiday Card Design Contest.This year more than a dozen student entrieswere considered by AA+D faculty, the PublicRelations Office and the President’s Office. Threedesigns were chosen for first, second and thirdplace. Gift cards from the <strong>NCC</strong> bookstore wereawarded to the winners.This year’s winning design, created byKristin Allen, was used to create <strong>NCC</strong>’s 2011holiday e-card. <strong>NCC</strong>’s webmaster, KristianCorrea, created a Flash animation featuring thewinning design. <strong>NCC</strong> Public Relations AssociateMelissa Slattery secured properly copyrightedmusic to accompany the animation and ExectiveAssistant Tommi Calise, in the President’s Office,guided the production process.If you haven’t had a chance to view the finalHoliday card, click on the “BRIGHT” image attop left.Second PlaceFirst Place winnerKristin AllenSecond Place winnerJohanna LörracherThird Place winnerDeborah AlvesHoliday card producers from left: Kristian Correa, John Alvordand Melissa Slattery, with much assistance from Tommi Calise.Third Place2
