Theteam will determine the division of work for the visit, emphasizingthe use of the National Directory as the basis for the consultation.Evening:Purposes:Orientation meeting with the diocesan bishop and/orthe diaconate director(s)To provide an overview of the diocese, a history of thediaconate in that diocese, and to determine to whomthe final oral report is to be given.First DayA.M.:Purposes:P.M.:Purposes:Meeting with the formation faculty and diaconateprogram staff (e.g. coordinators of the theological,spiritual, and pastoral formation components, coordinatorof wives’ program, coordinator (s) for specificethnic and cultural programs, etc.)To discuss the goals and objectives, developments, andconcerns of the programs’ leadership regarding diaconalformation, post-ordination support, and theministry and life of permanent deacons.Peer interviews between bishops, diaconate directors,priests, candidates, deacons, wives, and children, etc.(see VI, D)For team members and diocesan staff to discuss in depththeir responsibilities, observations, and concerns.
