Named after the Scottish home of the Royal Family, Balmoralis in keeping with her fleet-mates, reflects her stately natureand is recognized internationally. She has occupancy of1340 passengers carrying crew of 470. Tonnage is43,000 and she is 218 meters in length. She is currentlyunder full refurbishment so you will be the first to enjoy hernew look. The Balmoral is a slightly larger ship in comparisonwith other Fred Olsen ships; however, it maintains the feeling of traditional homey atmosphere. The Balmoral offers herpassengers an impressive range of dining choices from the inviting elegance of the yet-to-be-named main Restaurant to theconvenience and informality of the Yacht Club Café, or a snack in the sun at the Marquee Grill Bar. Public rooms will includequiet spaces in which to savor the delights of lazy days at sea. Outdoor Pool, Two Whirlpools and a health spa add to theluxury of this new ship. This cruise also has an added bonus as it features “Music of your Life”. Although not in Canada, there are 150 ”Music ofYour Life” radio stations in the United States that play swing music, Frank Sinatra and the Rat Pack and Tommy Dorsey musicknown to all as the “Big Band Sound”. Onboard this cruise will be a famous big band group so enjoy the music, dances, lectures which guarantee everyone will have lots of fun. But, as always, Fred Olsen offers the complete cruise so - in between calling at five of the best Caribbean islands - there arethree infinitely relaxing days at sea.ITINERARYEASTERN CARIBBEAN HIGHLIGHTS CRUISEDay Date Destination Arrival Departure1 Mon, Mar 3 Departure from Toronto 10 pmto Miami, Florida2 Tue, Mar 4 Cruising the Atlantic Ocean3 Wed, Mar 5 Grand Turk 10 am 5 pm4 Thu, Mar 6 Samana 8 am 2 pm5 Fri, Mar 7 Gustavia, St. Barthelemy 1 pm 9 pm6 Sat, Mar 8 St. Johns (Antigua) 8 am 11 pm7 Sun, Mar 9 Basseterre 8 am 6 pm8 Mon, Mar 10 Road Harbour, Tortola 8 am 5 pm9 Tue, Mar 11 Cruising the Atlantic Ocean10 Wed, Mar 12 Cruising the Atlantic Ocean11 Thu, Mar 13 Miami, Florida 7 amPORTS OF CALLGrand Turk, Turks & Caicos IslandsAnchored sleepily at the southern tip of the Bahamas, this British Crown Colony is a peaceful clusterof more than 30 low-lying islands and cays (only a third of them inhabited) with miles ofdeserted white sand beaches - Governor's Beach by the charming little waterfront capital ofCockburn Town the best-known - where the iguanas and crabs which can sometimes seem to outnumberthe human residents!Samana, Dominican RepublicSamana lies on the north-east coast of the Dominican Republic, part of the rugged island thatColumbus named Hispaniola or “Little Spain”, a pedigree still palpable today in its lively mixtureof Caribbean and Latin cultures. The Samana Peninsula is arguably the island's most beautiful corners, with colourful little clapboard houses dotted among the coconut palms and pine trees thatfestoon the lower mountain slopes, splendid beaches in the Las Terrenas area, the 160 ft RioLimon waterfall in the hills - and the coastal mangrove swamps of the Los Haitises National Park.Gustavia, St. BarthelemyThe French chic, brightly painted houses and glittering yacht harbour of charming Gustavia revealthe style and sophistication of tiny St. Barthelemy, a miniature Caribbean Côte d'Azur, just eightmiles square. Enjoy some duty-free shopping in its smart boutiques, dine in one of the countlessgourmet bistros and restaurants - and try to visit one of the 14-idyllic beaches!St. John’s, AntiguaWhatever rugged Antigua may lack in tropical scenery the island more than makes up for withwhat are some of the best water sports conditions found anywhere in the Caribbean, and 365beaches ('one for each day of the year' say the Antiguans) from which to enjoy them! For many, too, the great bay of stunning English Harbour and historic Nelson's Dockyard (Britain's WestIndies naval base now restored to its 18th century prime) will prove a magnet. It is thought thatthe Arawaks first inhabited Antigua about 2,000 years ago; around 1200 AD, they were evictedby the Caribs. In 1493, Columbus first sighted Antigua, and named it after a church in Seville,Spain. In 1674 Sir Christopher Codrington arrived to establish the first sugar plantation. Withthe abolition of slavery in 1834, the plantations collapsed and were consolidated under the controlof a handful of landowners. Antigua finally achieved full independence in 1981.

Basseterre, Saint Kitts & NevisBoth St Kitts and Nevis owe their dramatic central mountains, rather unpredictable geological history, and lushtropical vegetation to the fact that they are volcanic islands. Like the majority of the Caribbean, St Kitts andNevis were first settled by Arawak and Carib Indians who moved up, island by island, from South Americabetween five and seven thousand years ago. In 1493, Christopher Columbus arrived and thus commencedthe European connection. In the late 1620s, the French came up with the name Basseterre, which simplymeans 'lowland'. In the ensuing years there have been many Basseterres, for earthquakes, floods, hurricanes, fires and invasions have all swept through this modest community. Set before the dramatic backdrop of StKitts' lush green hills, Basseterre today retains much of the elegant Georgian character of Nelson's days. Afterseveral dramatic changes of ownership, St Kitts was returned to the British in 1783, as part of the Treaty ofVersailles. The Federation of St Kitts & Nevis was established as an independent nation within the BritishCommonwealth in 1983, democratically ruled, with an economic focus on tourism and sugar cane.Road Harbour, TortolaRoad Town- the Capital of the British Virgin Islands, surrounds the Harbour like an amphitheater, its buildingsstretching up into the hillsides in search of scarce land. The spacious, beautiful harbour at Road Town is a busycenter of island life and marine activity in this tropical archipelago along with hotels, businesses, restaurantsand shops.FLIGHTS - 40 seats guaranteed on flights listed below.Monday, March 3, 2008 Air Canada Flight 1216Departing Toronto at 10:10 am and arriving into Fort Lauderdale at 1:20 pm.Airbus 321 service, 3 hours and 10 minute non-stop service.Thursday, March 13, 2008 Air Canada Flight 939Departing Fort Lauderdale at 11:05 am and landing in Toronto at 2:15 pm.Airbus 321, 3 hours and 10 minute flight, non-stop service.COST PER PERSON Canadian Dollars, 2 to a cabinCategory I - Inside on Marina or Coral Decks 3 cabins $1995Category G - Superior Inside on Lido, Bridge or Main Decks 6 cabins $2165Category F - Outside on Marina or Coral Decks 2 cabins $2248Category B - Superior Outside on Lido or Main Decks 6 cabins $2425Category BA - Superior Balcony on Bridge Deck 2 cabins $2645Category BJ - Balcony Junior Suite on Marquee, Lido, Bridge 2 cabins $3100Category SS - Superior Suite on Bridge and Marquee 4 cabins $3360*Please note that ship is now sold out so we have these cabin categories confirmedand once cabin allotment in any given category is gone, we can not gain any furthercabins.
