Our commitment to developing leaders begins withattracting, developing, and sustaining courageous leaders atall levels of <strong>Lake</strong> <strong>Highland</strong>, from students to the faculty andstaff to the Board of Trustees.Exceptional Student Leadership TrainingThe school will refine and develop innovative leadershipprograms that produce confident leaders of strong characterwho serve others and personify Christian values andpatriotism. We will• Strengthen our unique Leadership Academy atOutdoor Odyssey for Upper School students• Build upon the anti-bullying program in the MiddleSchool and expand it to other grades• Explore character and leadership programs for LowerSchool students such as “Responsive Classroom”• Expand mentoring at all levels of our school• Emphasize programs that inspire patriotism andappreciation for our exceptional countryfaculty and staff talent managementThe school will develop a talent management planthat provides for professional development, training, andsuccession for faculty, administrative, and staff positions.We will• Provide extensive professional development and talentmanagement for both faculty and staff• Prepare for the succession of school administrativeleadership• Ensure our staff members have the requisite training andskills to accomplish our missionPresidential SearchAt <strong>Lake</strong> <strong>Highland</strong>, we lead by precept and example, andleadership begins at the top. Telling our StoryWe have a great story to tell about the education at<strong>Lake</strong> <strong>Highland</strong>! Our students, parents, and alumniemphasize the robust opportunities we offer. We are trulythe “School of Opportunity” where a child can pursue andachieve at the highest levels in academics, arts, athletics,and co-curricular activities. To tell our story more effectivelyand to revitalize the LHPS brand, we will• Hire an experienced marketing director• Develop and implement a marketing plan that addressesinternal and external marketing objectives• Communicate our mission clearly to all constituenciesand describe how we accomplish it in the threeacademic divisions, athletics, and the arts• Publicize the extraordinary stories of <strong>Highland</strong>erstudents, faculty, and alumni• Redesign the website to portray accurately andattractively the <strong>Lake</strong> <strong>Highland</strong> story9


Financial Strength & Stewardship<strong>Lake</strong> <strong>Highland</strong> is a financially strong institution –well supported by tuition revenues and the generosity ofthe <strong>Lake</strong> <strong>Highland</strong> family. To sustain our financial strengthand stability, LHPS has adopted the following financialstewardship plan:operating expense coverageLHPS will cover all operating expenses through acombination of tuition, user fees, and revenues fromauxiliary services.Facilities<strong>Lake</strong> <strong>Highland</strong>’s beautiful facilities enable us to fulfillour mission. The school will• Allocate funds from cash reserves to address immediatecapital needs, such as resurfacing the track and upgradingthe school’s phone system• Continue to explore productive investments in energyconservation• Update the Campus Master Plan in preparation for thenext capital campaignDevelopmentWe will use donations to enhance the <strong>Lake</strong> <strong>Highland</strong>education and experience beyond what tuition revenuesprovide. All donations will expand opportunities for ourstudents and ensure the enriched LHPS education is the bestin Central Florida.The school will streamline fundraising and reduce thenumber of fundraising requests to our families.11
