CM6 and CM10Galvanized Steel Instrumentation TripodsThe CM6 and CM10 tripods are general purposeinstrument mounts constructed out of corrosionresistantgalvanized steel. They support the attachmentof sensors and mounts, solar panels, and environmentalenclosures. The CM6 provides a 6 foot(2 m) measurement height for the wind sensors (seebelow), the CM10 a 10 foot (3 m) measurement height.Individually adjustable legs allow installation overuneven terrain. Both tripods include lightning andgrounding rods, grounding cables, grounding cableclamps, ground stakes, and UV-resistant cable ties. Anoptional guy kit to improve the CM10’s wind load rating(see back) is also available. The CM6 and CM10 are used as portable instrumentmounts in a variety of applications. For meteorologicalapplications, tripods augmented with mounts(e.g., CM204 Crossarm) support the attachment ofsensors such as wind sets, pyranometers, and temperature/relativehumidity probes. Barometers, soiltemperature and moisture probes, and rain gagesare also used with tripod-based weather stations. Fornon-meteorological applications, tripods can providea portable instrument mount for enclosures and amounting point for antennas.Lightning Rod*LI200X Pyranometer, LI2003SPyranometer base & leveling fixture, and Pyranometer Crossarm Stand034B Wind Speed and Direction SensorSolar PanelCrossarm41003-5 Gill Radiation Shield HMP45CRelative Humidity and Temperature ProbeEnvironmentalEnclosureCM6 or CM10 Tripod and Guy KitGround Stakes*(not shown)TE525WS TippingBucket Rain Gage5-ft Grounding Rod**Included with CM6/10 purchase. CM10K Tripod KitThe CM10K Tripod Kit is intended for overseas shipments. The kit contains most of the tripod’s hardware.Customers must purchase threaded and unthreadedlengths of 0.75-in and 1.25-in galvanized pipe and acopper ground rod. The overseas shipping costs aresignificantly reduced when the galvanized pipe is purchasedlocally.Ordering InformationTripods and Tripod KitsCM6 6 ft (1.8 m) galvanized-steel tripod with grounding kitCM10 10 ft (3 m) galvanized-steel tripod with grounding kitCM10K CM6/CM10 Tripod Kit.Common Accessory10844 Optional tripod guy kit for the CM10SpecificationsMeasurement HeightCM6: 6 ft (2 m)CM10: 10 ft (3 m)Vertical Load Limit:Mast:100 lbs (45 kg)Maximum Base DiameterCM6: 6 ft (2 m)CM10: 10 ft (3 m)Leveling Adjustment:Leg BaseCM6:CM10:1.25 in PS (1.66 in outerdiameter)Slide collars on each legadjust individually2 in x 4 in with 0.5-in hole forground stake2 in x 5 in with 0.5-in hole forground stakePortabilityCM6:CM10:WeightCM6:CM10:CM10K:Collapsible to 4-ft length by9-in diameterCollapsible to 6-ft length by9-in diameter45 lbs (20 kg)70 lbs (32 kg)14.8 lbs (6.7 kg)Wind Load RecommendationsSustained WindTolerance:100 mph (unguyed CM6);70 mph (unguyed CM10);120 mph (guyed CM10);Gust Tolerance:130 mph (unguyed CM6);100 mph (unguyed CM10);150 mph (guyed CM10);Campbell Scientific, Inc. | 815 W 1800 N | Logan, Utah 84321-1784 | (435) 753-2342 | www.campbellsci.comUSA | AUSTRALIA | BRAZIL | CANADA | COSTA RICA | ENGLAND | FRANCE | GERMANY | SOUTH AFRICA | SPAINCopyright © 1991, 2009Campbell Scientifi c, Inc.Printed November 2009
