APPENDIX 2ONE POOL COMPETITION PLAN AND RANKING1 PLAN OF THE COMPETITION1.1 There will be one pool comprising of all participating teams.2 RANKING IN THE POOLS2.1 In <strong>FIH</strong> World League Round 1 and 2 tournaments, if the score is equal at the end of regulationtime, a shoot-out competition as specified in Appendix 9 will be played to establish the winner ofthe match. The following points will be awarded for each match:- three points to the winner of a match at the end of regulation time;- two points to the winner of a shoot-out competition, where the score is tied at theend of regulation time:- one point to the loser of a shoot-out competition, where the score is tied at the endof regulation time;- no points to the loser of a match at the end of regulation time.2.2 In any other one pool competition, points will be awarded according to clause 2.1 in Appendix 3.2.3 Ranking in a pool is determined according to clause 2.2 in Appendix 3.3 CLASSIFICATION MATCHES3.1 This regulation applies only to the final classification play-off competition if it is to be played afterthe one pool competition.3.2 The teams for the classification matches will be as follows although the matches will notnecessarily be played in this order:7 th Ranked Team v 8 th Ranked Team (to determine 7 th and 8 th places)5 th Ranked Team v 6 th Ranked Team (to determine 5 th and 6 th places)3 rd Ranked Team v 4 th Ranked Team (to determine 3 rd and 4 th places)1 st Ranked Team v 2 nd Ranked Team (to determine 1 st and 2 nd places)3.3 The score at the end of the regulation time of any match will be registered by the <strong>FIH</strong> as theresult of the match.3.4 If at the end of the regulation time the result is a draw, in order to establish an outright winner ofa classification match for the purpose of the competition, a shoot-out competition as specified inAppendix 10 will be played to establish the winner of the match.<strong>FIH</strong> <strong>Tournament</strong> <strong>Regulations</strong>:Outdoor Competitions – June 2013Page 18
