15.8 The deposit will be returned if the protest is either dismissed or allowed. The deposit will beforfeited to the <strong>FIH</strong> if the protest is not allowed but the <strong>FIH</strong> Executive Board may subsequentlydecide to return all or part of the deposit.15.9 If a team involved in a protest wishes to appeal the decision of the <strong>Tournament</strong> Directorresulting from any protest under these <strong>Regulations</strong>, the Team Manager(s) must give writtennotice to the <strong>Tournament</strong> Director within sixty (60) minutes after the <strong>Tournament</strong> Director’sdecision is published. If no such appeal is lodged, the decision of the <strong>Tournament</strong> Director isfinal.15.10 If an appeal is lodged, the <strong>Tournament</strong> Director must immediately inform the <strong>FIH</strong>Representative. If there is not an <strong>FIH</strong> Representative, the <strong>Tournament</strong> Director mustimmediately inform the <strong>FIH</strong> Chief Executive Officer. Any appeal will be conducted in accordancewith the provisions of these <strong>Regulations</strong>.16 APPEAL JURY16.1 At <strong>FIH</strong> events where there is an <strong>FIH</strong> Representative appointed, the <strong>FIH</strong> Representative willappoint an Appeal Jury.16.2 If not chairing the hearing, the <strong>FIH</strong> Representative will appoint a chair.16.3 An Appeal Jury shall consist of a minimum of three persons and a maximum of five persons.16.4 Any person who has taken part in any previous proceedings relating to the matter under appealmust not be appointed to a particular Appeal Jury.16.5 Reasonable steps should be taken to ensure that at least one member of an Appeal Jury for aparticular hearing has played international hockey within the previous 10 years.17 APPEALS17.1 An individual or a team may lodge an appeal against:aba decision by a <strong>Tournament</strong> Director to suspend a player, team official or other official;a protest which has not been allowed by a <strong>Tournament</strong> Director.17.2 A deposit of five hundred Euros (€500) (or equivalent in freely convertible currency) must bepaid if the appeal is against a decision by a <strong>Tournament</strong> Director to suspend a player or teamofficial; the deposit must accompany the written notice of appeal.17.3 The written notice of appeal must contain a statement outlining the grounds of appeal andindicating whether the appeal is against:abcda finding;a penalty imposed;both a finding and a penalty;procedural irregularities of a <strong>Tournament</strong> Director hearing.<strong>FIH</strong> <strong>Tournament</strong> <strong>Regulations</strong>:Outdoor Competitions – June 2013Page 12
