MUSHROOM GROW KIT MUSHBAG - MANUALEN The Mushbag contains a heat-treated substrate that’s suitable for thespawn production of most edible mushrooms. It’s equipped with a micro filterthat allows it to breath and a rubber injection port that seals the bag hermeticallyafter injection with a spore syringe. Heat the needleShake the spore syringe really well for5-10 seconds for even distribution of thespores. Take off the protective cap andheat the needle of the syringe until it isred hot. Then let it cool for 15-20 seconds.4. IncubateCarefully squeeze the bag to distributethe spores. Put it in a warm, dark place(*). Make sure that the filter is free fromthe back of the bag. A temperatureof 20°C is acceptable, but if possible,1. Clean the injection portUse the supplied alcohol swab todisinfect the injection port. Do not touchthe port afterwards.3. Inject the inoculantCarefully insert the needle through therubber patch and inject the contents ofthe syringe. If the flow blocks, gentlypull the needle back a bit.aim for a temperature around 28°C. Lower temperatures can slow the growthprocess. Temperatures of 15°C and below will halt the growth of mycelium.5. GROWTHAfter about seven days, when the myceliumstarts to grow, the bag will inflate a little.Shaking the bag now will accelerate growth.Once all kernels are covered with mycelium,the spawn is ready for use (**).< End result:Bag of fullgrown spawn. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .Tips(*) A good place to store the Mushbag would be thecupboard above the refrigerator. The heat produced bythe refrigerator rises and increases the temperature by a few degrees. Heat pads can also be used,but never place the Mushbag directly onto a heat source – this causes the Mushbag to dry out.(**) If the Mushbag contaminates, it cannot be saved.
