Small unit maneuvers at the squad, platoon, andcompany level would typically take place at SBMR and the SRAA. Platoons would be anticipated totrain up to 5 weeks each at SBMR to support doctrinal maneuver requirements. The SBCT has 27 infantryplatoons and 9 reconnaissance platoons that would be required to conduct maneuver trainingfor up to 5 weeks each at SBMR. This represents a 33 percent increase in the frequency of small unittraining maneuvers in comparison to the training requirements for the 2/25 th ID (L) and its 27 maneuverand reconnaissance platoons. The companies of the 2/25 th are also required to conduct up to 5weeks of maneuver training per year. The 2/25 th has 12 maneuver companies versus the previous requirementsto train the nine companies of the 2/25 th (L), also representing a 33 percent increase in thesmall unit training requirements when directly comparing the 2/25 th to the 2/25 th (L). Given thatUSAG-HI supports the training of the 3/25 th IBCT in addition to other unit training, the total increaseof squad, platoon, and company training distributed on the Island of Oahu would be anticipated to beless than a 25 percent increase in total Oahu training area utilization.Maneuver training for larger units at the battalion and brigade levels would be anticipated to occur atthe larger maneuver training areas of PTA.
