Descriptions and the intent of <strong>SBCT</strong> range facilities are providedbelow.2.2.3.1 Individual/Crew Qualification RangesQualification Training Range: This range is a multi-functional range that can meet the weapons qualificationsrequirements for multiple <strong>SBCT</strong> weapons systems. This range combines the capabilities ofthe Modified Record Fire Range (MRF), Sniper Field Fire Range, Combat Pistol QualificationCourse (CPQC), MK–19 Range, and the Multipurpose Machine Gun Range (MPMG).25 Meter Zero Range: This range is <strong>us</strong>ed to train Soldiers in basic marksmanship. This range teachesSoldiers techniques to engage stationary targets and sighting adj<strong>us</strong>tment techniques. It can supportM–16 or M–4 rifle firing as well as that of crew served machine guns.Modified Record Fire Range: This range is <strong>us</strong>ed to train support unit Soldiers in basic marksmanshiptasks. The range teaches Soldiers to quickly aim and engage stationary infantry targets.Combat Pistol Qualification Course: This combat pistol range is <strong>us</strong>ed to train Soldiers to identify, engage,and defeat an array of targets <strong>us</strong>ing the 9-mm, .38-caliber, or .45-caliber pistol.Multipurpose Machine Gun Range: This range is designed to train Soldiers to engage stationary infantryand mobile vehicular targets with the full range of Army machine guns to include the M249,M60, M240, and .50-caliber machine guns.February 2008 2–4 2/25th <strong>SBCT</strong> <strong>Final</strong> <strong>EIS</strong>
