16ABSTRACTS OF SIKH STUDIES : JAN-MARCH <strong>2006</strong> / 537-38 NSCOMPILATION OF SRI GURU GRANTH SAHIBSANGAT SINGH *Sri Guru Granth Sahib, the <strong>Sikh</strong> scripture, has the uniquedistinction <strong>of</strong> having been compiled by one <strong>of</strong> the <strong>Sikh</strong> preceptorshimself. It bears all the characteristics <strong>of</strong> an original presentation <strong>of</strong><strong>Sikh</strong> theology and philosophy, despite serious attempts at adulteration.IThe <strong>Sikh</strong> movement was based on blossoming <strong>of</strong> cosmicconsciousness <strong>of</strong> Guru Nanak. As <strong>Jan</strong>amsakhis narrate, he was led tothe presence <strong>of</strong> God, and had revelation, when he recited mool-mantraor basic precept, which sums up the divine personality <strong>of</strong> God.
