This is a prime and easily accessible locationon Madhya Marg at Plot No 1 <strong>of</strong> Sector 28-A, Chandigarh.The ceremony itself started with kirtan at 10am in a hall adjacentto the neatly renovated <strong>of</strong>fices <strong>of</strong> the ISC. The open lawns <strong>of</strong> theKendri Singh Sabha welcomed the guests to a short but auspiciousceremony in which <strong>Sikh</strong> intellectuals joined hands to formally establishthe nerve centre <strong>of</strong> a vitally needed global <strong>Sikh</strong> organisation. TheChief Guest this time was not any glorified dignitary; the dignifiedand holy Panj Piaras <strong>of</strong> Chandigarh, were humbly invited to performthe inaugural ceremony.At 11am sharp, Panj Piaras in full and colourful regalia wereescorted into the premises by Lt Gen Kartar Singh Gill and SardarSadhu Singh Deol. On arrival at the actual site, they were formallygarlanded by Dr Kharak Singh, Dr Gurcharan Singh Kalkat and SardarGurdev Singh. The large hall was soon full <strong>of</strong> <strong>Sikh</strong> representatives <strong>of</strong>important Gurdwaras and Organisations located in Chandigarh,Ludhiana, Amritsar and Patiala.Kirtan was followed by brief speeches by a few representativeguests, wherein they blessed the efforts <strong>of</strong> the organisers in bringinginto being the International <strong>Sikh</strong> Confederation.
